Our Eye Doctors
Mark Bunde, O.D.—
Serving at all Fairway Eye Center locations.
Dr. Bunde was born in Hastings Nebraska. He earned an undergraduate degree in Biology in 1992 at Cornell College where he played basketball. His Doctorate of Optometry degree was earned from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN in 1997.
After graduating from Optometry school he took a job in Kansas City to work in a Pediatric Strabismus office. Two years later he entered into a partnership with four Optometric offices scattered around the Kansas City area.
In 2004 he left the partnership to start Fairway Eye Centers with two locations in Fairway, KS and Excelsior Springs, MO. The Excelsior Springs office has since moved to its current location in Liberty. After the purchase, selling, and merging of 16 practices the Fairway Eye Centers now consists of four offices, including the two aforementioned locations and the addition of offices in Raytown, MO and the Leawood office, located at 117th and Roe.
Dr. Bunde is currently a member of the American Optometric Association, the Infantsee Program, and is on the Board for the Children's Center for the Visually Impaired. He has been an active participant doing mission work at home and abroad. He has traveled to Juarez, Mexico and most recently to Guatemala. The Fairway Eye Centers continue to aid the Barnabe orphanage in Guatemala as well as donating glasses to other needy causes. We are very excited to reach out to Jamaica in 2015. Dr. Bunde lives in Leawood, KS along with his wife Patricia and his two girls.
Teresa Larcom, O.D.—
Serving at Fairway, Raytown and Liberty locations.
Teresa Larcom, O.D. earned her Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Missouri-St. Louis in 1993. Her externship training sites included the Kansas City VA Medical Center, Dover Air Force Base, a contact lens and primary care private practice in Cape Girardeu, Missouri and multiple clinics in the inner city of St. Louis. Dr. Larcom practices full-scope optometry including primary eye care of all ages, diagnosis and treatment of ocular disease, contact lenses, and co-management of refractive and cataract surgery.
Dr. Larcom is a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Academic Society, American Optometric Association, Missouri Optometric Association, Greater Kansas City Optometric Society and the Lion's Club. In 2007 Dr. Larcom was voted Best of the Best in the KC Mag.
She grew up in southeast Kansas, attended Girard High School and Pittsburg State University. Dr. Larcom lives in Kansas City, Missouri where she enjoys spoiling her dachshund and her nieces, nephews and great niece and great nephew.
Jessica Nichols, O.D.—
Serving at Fairway and Liberty locations.
Dr. Jessica Nichols received her undergraduate degree from William Jewell College in Liberty, MO in 2008, and her doctorate from Southern College of Optometry in 2012. Dr. Nichols practices full-scope optometry, including primary eye care for all ages, diagnosis and management of ocular disease, contact lenses, and co-management of refractive and cataract surgery. Additionally, Dr. Nichols has introduced vision therapy to our practice, specifically our Fairway and Liberty locations. Dr. Nichols commitment to care is exemplified in her past work with the Student Volunteers of Optometric Service to Humanity (SVOSH), where she traveled to Jamaica, Belarus, Colombia, and Belize to provide free vision care services for those in underserved populations. She is currently an active member of the Junior League of Kansas City.
Burt Schreiber, O.D.—
Serving at Fairway and Leawood locations.
Dr. Schreiber practices full-scope optometry including primary eye care of all ages, co-management of refractive and cataract surgery, and treatment of ocular disease, including dry eyes. Dr. Schreiber is a part of the InfantSee Program, which provides a free eye exam for infants from ages 6-12 months.
He earned his doctorate of optometry degree from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. His externship training included a medical rotation at the Colmery-O'Neil VA Medical Center in Topeka, and a contact lens/pediatric rotation at primary care optometry clinics throughout the KC area.
Dr. Schreiber was born in Overland Park and graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School. He received his undergraduate degree in biology at Rockhurst University, where he played baseball. He enjoys keeping an active role in missionary eye care providing for those in need throughout Mexico, Belize, and Guatemala, as well as locally for WyJo Care, Homeless Connect KC and as member of the Leawood Lions Club. He lives in Leawood with his wife, Amber and their two kids.
