We are an independent practice with skilled and professional eye doctors that provide a complete
range of optometric care services.

Dr. Bunde was born in Hastings Nebraska. He earned an undergraduate degree in Biology in 1992 at Cornell College where he played basketball. His Doctorate of Optometry degree was earned from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN in 1997.
After graduating from Optometry school he took a job in Kansas City to work in a Pediatric Strabismus office. Two years later he entered into a partnership with four Optometric offices scattered around the Kansas City area.
In 2004 he left the partnership to start Fairway Eye Centers with two locations in Fairway, KS and Excelsior Springs, MO. The Excelsior Springs office has since moved to its current location in Liberty. After the purchase, selling, and merging of 16 practices the Fairway Eye Centers now consists of four offices, including the two aforementioned locations and the addition of offices in Leawood.
Dr. Bunde is currently a member of the American Optometric Association and the InfantSee Program. He has been an active participant doing mission work at home and abroad. He has traveled to Juarez, Mexico and most recently to Guatemala. The Fairway Eye Centers continue to aid the Barnabe orphanage in Guatemala as well as donating glasses to other needy causes. Dr. Bunde lives in Leawood, KS along with his wife Patricia and his two girls.

Dr. Natalie Nichols is dedicated to helping patients see their best while making every visit comfortable, informative, and stress-free. She believes in taking the time to listen, answer questions, and ensure each patient understands their eye health and treatment options.
Dr. Nichols provides comprehensive eye exams, contact lens fittings, and medical eye care, with a special interest in pediatric optometry. Whether it’s your child’s first eye exam or you’re managing a medical eye condition, she is committed to providing exceptional care tailored to your needs.
Originally from Wichita, Kansas, Dr. Nichols earned her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of Kansas Honors College before receiving her Doctor of Optometry degree from Southern College of Optometry.
Outside the office, she enjoys cooking, reading, crafting, and spending time with her boyfriend and their Mini Australian Shepherd puppy.
